COMP 2555 Computer Forensics--Project 4

Due: May 29, 2009

Compare two memory analysis solutions that were the prize winners to the DFRWS 2005 challenge.

Here are the requirements:

• Analyze solution 1
• Analyze solution 2
• Write a detailed report (around 5 pages, single spaced) comparing their findings, the methods employed, and the strengths and weaknesses of each approach

Extra credit (additional 10% to your grade):

• Recreate either solution 1 or 2, i.e. download the data and get the solution code to run on the data to reproduce the results reported in the solutions

Extra credit (earn an A grade):

• Write your own memory analysis tool and validate the results by comparing your results with those reported in solution 1 and 2.
